September Outing – Lerida TSR and Oakdale NR

Come and discover Lerida TSR! It is a 25 ha grassy woodland of Yellow Box and Blakely’s Red Gum with a scattering of wattles north of the ACT. Additionally, there will be an option to explore Oakdale NR near Collector on the way back.

Date: Tuesday 23rd  September 2025

Time: 9 am until mid-afternoon (with an earlier-finish option)

Meeting Place: Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club car park, for possible carpooling

Drive: via Mulligans Flat road to Gundaroo  (27 km), then by Marked Tree Road to Pandy Hill lookout, that overlooks Lake George  (15 km, some gravel road). After the lookout, continue (about 7 km, gravel) and turn onto Collector Road, and then 5 km to Lerida TSR (Total distance is about 55 km).

Walk: From the gate there is a short walk over a gentle rise to a dam.

Lunch: BYO to have at Lerida TSR.

Loop Option Back: For those who wish to have a longer day, on the way home, we will have a short stop at Oakdale NR.

Direct Option Back: For those who need to go straight back, return by Gundaroo, or a quick drive to Canberra via Collector Road and the Federal highway.
