Feb 2021 – Hall Village

On 26 Feb Rosemary Blemings led us on a very enjoyable walk through the historic village of Hall. We started in grasslands on the northern edge, near the walking track to One Tree Hill. Here we were shown several weed species. We then circled around to the west, finding woodlands and a travelling stock reserve. TSR’s play a very important role conserving nature outside the reserve system, often in productive rural areas lower in the landscape. They also provide vital connectivity.

A highlight of the morning was the discovery of a baby koel still in the nest! After the walk, we gathered for a pleasant lunch at one of the cafes.
